Salt Lake City, UT—Jim Matheson has again earned the endorsement of the nation’s leading Second Amendment Rights organization—the NRA—for his consistent pro-gun voting record.  Matheson is running to represent Utah’s 4th Congressional District.

“You have earned an “A” rating and endorsement from the NRA,” said NRA Chairman Chris Cox in the announcement letter.  “You cosponsored and voted for H.R 822, the ‘National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act,’ one of the most important pieces of pro-gun legislation to come before the Congress.  This bill would ensure that law-abiding Americans with a valid concealed handgun license would be able to carry their concealed firearm in any other state that does not prohibit concealed carry.”

Matheson is a member of the bipartisan 2nd Amendment Rights caucus in the House of Representatives.  The letter also notes that he voted for “The Sportsmen’s Heritage Act” which promotes America’s hunting heritage.

“I appreciate this important recognition of my efforts on behalf of law-abiding gun owners,” said Matheson.  “Utah has a proud family tradition of hunting on our public lands and I always stand with sportsmen and all Utahns in support of their right to bear arms,” said Matheson.
