Salt Lake City, UT—Jim Matheson today said he was honored and proud to receive the endorsement of the Utah State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) in his campaign for Utah’s 4th Congressional District.
The endorsement was issued by Utah FOP President Brent Jex of the West Jordan City police department.
“Jim has been a great friend to the FOP over the years,” stated Jex. “It is an honor for us to stand with him now. He has repeatedly shown his commitment to the safety of the public and has earned this endorsement.”
The FOP is the largest and oldest police organization in the country, representing over 330,000 police officers in more than 2,100 lodges.
“These dedicated public safety officers put their lives on the line every single day, on behalf of the oath they swear to protect the citizens of Utah. My family and families throughout Utah sleep peacefully at night, because they are on duty. I will always stand with them to ensure they are able to pursue the criminals, and return home safely,” said Matheson.
