Matheson announces campaign support of Jon M. Huntsman, Sr., Huntsman family members

Salt Lake City, UT—Jim Matheson today said he was honored and grateful to receive the endorsement and campaign support of renowned businessman and philanthropist Jon M. Huntsman, Sr. Matheson received the backing during a meeting with members of the Huntsman family at Huntsman corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City. Huntsman is the Founder and Chairman of Huntsman Corporation.
“Jon Huntsman, Sr. is a fellow Utahn whose success in business and remarkable legacy of public service is respected and admired throughout this country. My family and his family have long shared the values of giving back to the community and working in a bipartisan way to solve problems and achieve progress. I am very proud to have his endorsement in my Congressional race,” said Matheson.
Matheson noted that during his time in Congress, he worked closely with Huntsman’s son and former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr., on issues such as blocking foreign nuclear waste from being dumped in Utah, on opening markets to Utah businesses through trade agreements and investments in public infrastructure to enhance commerce and quality of life in this state. Matheson said it is proof of how getting consensus and finding common ground benefits all citizens of the state, regardless of party.
Huntsman said he and members of his family appreciate Matheson’s example as a dedicated public servant and as someone who put Utah’s interests first.

He is a conservative “Blue Dog” Congressional leader from Utah who represents our state very well.
